Foo Fighters
Wow. What a weekend. First off we saw the Foo Fighters in Hyde park. to quote my friend Dave, "Fuckin' Hyde Park! Fuckin' 85,000 people! Fuckin' sold out...!". It was Awesome. QOTS were there too and they rocked! Motorhead were there as well and they played a load of songs that sounded like The Ace of Spades and then they played The Ace of Spades (which was clearly the best song). And they played them _really_ loud (although somehow my sister managed to have a nap through half of their set...). We were absolutely devestated to have missed, Juliette and the Licks and Angels and Airwaves, but shit happens...
Anyway, after the warm ups (and the que for the beers, and the surprisingly nice burgers and Holly having a strange itchy-swelling-eyes incident) the Foos came on and were awesome. No, really, they were awesome. The gig wasn't prefect, there seemed to be some problem with the PA, the stage was too low, and the set was too short, but when your favourite band in the world ever are joined for one song by Lemmy and for another by Roger Taylor and Brian May, then you can't complain too much now can you? They did a greatest hits type of thing rather than the "all our new songs that you don't really want to hear" that so many bands seem to do which was much appreciated. The only complaint (and it is only a slight complaint) is that I would have been nice to have had maybe one song from the first album...
And then for a complete change of pace on Sunday we went on the London Eye which was something I have wanted to do for ages. So all in all a great weekend.
